Key facts
- Seats: about 350 to 400, depending on the layout.
- Range: about 13,650 km.
- Engines: two GE90-115B turbofans, among the most powerful ever fitted to an airliner.
- Cruise: about Mach 0.84.
- First flight: 2003.
Why it is used
The 777-300ER carries many passengers and a lot of cargo on long routes with only two engines, which is efficient. It is common on routes between Pakistan and the UK, North America and the Gulf, and on Hajj and Umrah flights.
In Pakistan
PIA operates 777s, and many foreign airlines serve Pakistan with the type. See Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 777-200LR.
Passenger tips
A 777-300ER is long, so check your seat position on the seat map. It is quiet at the front and noisier near the rear engines in some layouts.
