What the map shows

The map shows aircraft in South Asia, the Middle East and Central Asia, based on ADS-B data from the OpenSky Network. Each plane points in its direction of travel and is coloured by altitude. Select one to open details and a link to its flight page.

How to find a flight

Type a callsign (for example PIA300) in the search box, or choose an airline from the filter. To search by flight number such as PK 300 use track a flight.

Coverage and delay

Coverage depends on volunteer and partner receivers, so some areas have gaps, especially at low altitude. Data is refreshed on our servers every one to a few minutes and shown with its age. It is not suitable for navigation or safety decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Is the map really live?

It is close to live. Positions are refreshed about every 30 seconds in your browser, but the underlying data can be a minute or more old, and the age is shown under the map.

Why can’t I see a particular flight?

Only aircraft with an ADS-B transponder that are received by a ground station appear. Aircraft over remote areas, military aircraft and some others may not show. A flight also appears only while it is in the air or on the ground at a covered airport.

What do the colours mean?

Plane colour shows altitude: blue on the ground, green below 3 km, yellow below 7 km, red below 11 km and purple above 11 km.

Where does the data come from?

ADS-B data from the OpenSky Network, on OpenStreetMap maps. See data sources and methodology.

Can I see schedules, gates or delays?

Not on the map. Those come from airline schedules, which are not part of the free data we use.
