How to Track a Family Member's Flight

To track a family member’s flight you need the flight number and date. Enter the number on a tracker to see whether the aircraft is in the air, where it is and when it may land.

What to ask for

  • The flight number (for example PK 300) and the date.
  • The departure and arrival airports.
  • The scheduled arrival time.

If they only have the airline and times, see how to track a flight without a flight number.

Track it

  1. Open the tracking page and enter the flight number.
  2. Watch the position, altitude and speed.
  3. Add the page to your phone’s home screen.
  4. Or share a link with others; see how to share a live flight with family.

What the data means

If the aircraft descends and slows near the airport, it is approaching. Compare with the airline’s official estimated arrival. The tracker may lose the aircraft over the sea or in coverage gaps; see why flights disappear.

When to leave

Wait for “landed”, then add time for immigration and baggage; see landed vs arrived and airport pickup etiquette.

Delays
