How to Track a Flight Using WhatsApp
WhatsApp cannot track flights by itself, but you can share a live flight link in a WhatsApp chat or group so everyone can watch the same flight. Some airlines also provide WhatsApp support; availability varies.
Share a live link
- Open the pickup board and enter the flight number.
- Press the WhatsApp button to open WhatsApp with a ready message and link.
- Choose the family chat or group and send.
The link opens a page that shows the aircraft’s live position. Family members do not need an account.
Keep the group informed
- Post the flight number and expected arrival time from the ticket.
- Update the group when the flight shows “landed”, and again when passengers are out of immigration.
- Use WhatsApp’s live location only if the traveller chooses to share; it is separate from flight tracking and uses the phone, not the aircraft.
Airline WhatsApp services
Some airlines offer WhatsApp customer support or notifications. Check the airline’s official website for the verified number. Beware of fake accounts asking for payment or passwords.
Limits
The link shows live position, not schedules or gates. Positions can be delayed, and the plane may vanish over areas without coverage. See why flights disappear.
