How to Track a Flight on Your Phone
You can track a flight on any phone using the browser: open the tracking page, enter the flight number, and bookmark the result. No app is needed.
Steps
- Open the tracking page in Chrome, Safari or any browser.
- Type the flight number, such as PK 300.
- Open the result to see position, altitude and speed.
- Add the page to your home screen so you can return quickly.
Add to home screen
In Chrome on Android, open the menu and choose “Add to Home screen”. On iPhone in Safari, use the share button and “Add to Home Screen”. The shortcut opens the flight page directly.
Use less data
The map loads tiles, which use data. Use Wi-Fi when you can, or the airport boards, which are text-based and lighter. See the live map.
If the flight is not found
It may not be airborne yet, may be out of coverage, or may use a different callsign. See how to track a flight without a flight number.
