Customs Rules at Pakistan Airports: What You Can Bring
Customs rules control what you can bring into and take out of Pakistan. Rules, limits and duties change, so check the current rules with the customs authority before you travel. This is general guidance.
What you usually need to declare
- Currency above the declaration limit. Limits are set by the authorities and change; check the current limit before you travel.
- Goods above the duty-free allowance.
- Commercial goods and items in large quantities.
- Gold, jewellery or valuables above the allowance.
Items that are restricted or prohibited
Illegal drugs, weapons and ammunition, counterfeit goods and certain other items are prohibited. Some medicines need a prescription or approval. Items such as drones may need permission. If you are unsure, ask before you travel.
Mobile phones
Imported mobile phones may need to be registered, and allowances differ. Check the current rules with the relevant authorities.
Food and plants
There may be restrictions on bringing in meat, plants and animal products. Check the rules.
At the airport
- Customs comes after baggage reclaim on international arrivals.
- If you have goods to declare, use the declaration channel, and keep receipts.
- Be polite and have your documents ready.
Leaving Pakistan
Rules also apply to taking out items such as antiques and large amounts of currency. Check before you go.
