Airport Security Rules in Pakistan
Security screening at Pakistani airports follows common international practice: your bags and body are screened before you enter the departure area. Rules can change, so check with your airline and the airport.
What to expect
- Identity and ticket checks at the terminal entrance and at check-in.
- Screening of hand baggage and checked bags.
- Body screening before boarding.
Common rules
- Liquids in hand baggage: international practice limits liquids, gels and creams to small containers carried in a transparent bag. Check the current limits.
- Electronics: laptops and large electronics may need to be taken out of bags. Power banks and spare batteries normally go in hand baggage, not checked baggage.
- Prohibited items: sharp objects, weapons, flammable and dangerous goods are not allowed in hand baggage. Some items are banned entirely.
- Medicines: carry prescribed medication in original packaging, with documents.
Speed up screening
- Pack liquids and electronics where you can reach them.
- Wear simple clothing and shoes that are easy to remove.
- Keep your passport and boarding pass in hand.
- Arrive early; see how early to arrive.
Following instructions
Be polite and follow staff instructions. Do not joke about security: it is taken seriously.
